I was born in 1968 in Klagenfurt and started to play guitar when I was about eleven years old. After one year of playing classical guitar, I changed to steel string guitar and learned fingerpicking by myself.

At the age of 15, me and a couple of friends founded a band and started to play dance music for about ten years in different bars and hotels. During that time I played the electric guitar and did the lead and backing vocals. Because of family and business I took a break for about 15 years.

In 2008 my wife sent me to a workshop with Peter Ratzenbeck, one of the best Austrian acoustic guitar players, and I started to play the fingerpicking guitar again. I got new inspiration and started to arrange old pop songs and to compose some fingerpicking songs.

In 2010, my friend Jürgen and I started a new music project called “Steirisch Bayrisch Guitars”. We recorded our first album “Good Vibes” in 2013. You can listen to some songs on the page “my music” and “my projects”. Enjoy!

In 2017 i started my fingerstyle-solo-project. Haveing a lot of fun at Thomas Leeb-Bootcamps during the last years, i have been influenced doing new things in playing my guitar, trying to find my individual style.

Finaly in Dec 2018 – Mar 2019 i built my own acoustic guitar Gerry´s Nr.17 supported by Hermann Graefe http://www.gitarrenbauwerkstatt.de . At least, i build some more guitars on my own.

After recording my CD „Love+Trust“ in Jan 2020 and „COVID-delayed“ presentation, I have recorded my new songs in Jan 2025.

Some of these songs have been written for an author-reading with August Schmölzer in March 2024.

I am performing these songs at my concerts, and my new CD will be availiable soon.
